They’re ‘giants’ with curb appeal

RE the Oct. 5 feature on the Western sycamore [“A Giant That Goes Its Own Way”] and the subsequent letters criticizing the tree [“Sycamores, a Blight on the Landscape?” Oct. 12]: We have two large sycamores in our frontyard, and despite the driveway damage and messy features, we love these trees for their beauty, not to mention the energy we save during the summer because of the huge canopy of leaves.

As a real estate appraiser for nearly 30 years, I can say that large well-placed trees definitely add value to a property.
