U.S. Air Force Officer Goes Missing in Capital

A U.S. Air Force officer stationed at the air base near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, disappeared while shopping in the capital, the U.S. military said.
Maj. Jill Metzger was separated from a group visiting a department store, officials at Manas air base said in a statement.
Bishkek Police Chief Moldomusa Kongantiyev said security cameras showed that Metzger spent only 10 minutes in the store. She later made two calls from her cellphone to a number in Bishkek before the phone was turned off, he said.
