Yes, it can be sophomoric

College has always been a time for self-expression. And fun. It’s a time to do the unexpected -- even the strange -- just for the sake of doing it. In the 1930s, students swallowed goldfish. Streaking was the rage in the ‘70s. For whatever reason, the ‘50s were a particularly inventive time. In California and elsewhere, male students launched panty raids on women’s dorms. The decade also saw the advent of telephone booth stuffing. When that got old, guys started jamming themselves into Volkswagen Bugs -- or carrying them around. It’s impossible to predict what collegians will do in the future, but whatever it is, it probably will be lots of fun.
