Fox viewers aren’t standoffish

Fox Broadcasting continued its premiere successes with “Standoff” and “ ‘Til Death,” but its winning streak ended with “Happy Hour,” according to Nielsen Media Research figures released Tuesday.

“Standoff,” a drama about FBI hostage negotiators, won its 9-10 p.m. Tuesday slot with 13.63 million viewers, the most for a Fox Tuesday drama premiere since “Boston Public” on Oct. 23, 2000, and shows premiering after “American Idol.”

“Standoff” received a tremendous boost from the season premiere of the lead-in show. The medical drama “House” drew 19.65 million viewers, a series high other than for episodes following “American Idol.”

“House” was the most-watched prime-time program in the Los Angeles market from Sept. 4 through Sunday, with 930,000 viewers in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
