Inspired by a Master of Baseball Lore and Writing

Thanks to Chris Epting for a most accurate portrait of Arnold Hano, the avid baseball fan and master of words (“Back to the Bleachers,” Aug. 27). I was lucky to have taken my first creative writing class from him in the ‘70s at UC Irvine. May he continue to share his insights on baseball and the world for many years to come.
