Howard Stern is Carolla guest

Listeners to KLSX-FM (97.1) heard a voice from the past Monday morning: Howard Stern, who hosted the morning show there for 14 years, was a guest of the man who succeeded him, Adam Carolla.

And Carolla, simultaneously, was a guest on Stern’s new show at Sirius Satellite Radio. They talked by phone from their respective studios. Carolla used to be a frequent guest on the nationally syndicated show that Stern left at the end of last year to go to Sirius’ subscription service.

Carolla, who acknowledged to Stern that it has been tough following him -- a fact confirmed by his ratings -- was so pleased with having Stern on the air that he replayed the interview later in Monday’s broadcast. Stern told him that he was happy to have made the jump to satellite and has no plans to return to terrestrial radio, as has been rumored.
