5-Year-Old Riding in Car Is Killed by a Gunshot

A 5-year-old girl riding in the back seat of a car being driven by her mother in Philadelphia was killed by a gunshot and police said she might have been caught in the crossfire of a moving gun battle.
Casha’e Rivers died after being wounded in the chest. Many different shell casings were found near the shooting site in the city’s Strawberry Mansion section and at a location two blocks away. Those, along with statements from residents, led detectives to theorize that the car was caught in a shootout.
