Two brothers who headed Colombia’s Cali cocaine cartel pleaded guilty in Miami to drug trafficking charges.

As part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela, 67, and Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela, 62, were each sentenced to 30 years in prison and agreed to forfeit $2.1 billion worth of assets linked to the drug trade, officials said. The pair also agreed to plead guilty later to separate money-laundering charges filed against them in New York.

In exchange, half a dozen of the brothers’ relatives will not face prosecution.
