‘30 Rock’ in, but ‘7th Heaven’ out
“30 Rock” will be back next season. But say so long to “7th Heaven.”
NBC confirmed Wednesday that, low ratings notwithstanding, it has renewed “30 Rock,” the first-year comedy starring Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. Meanwhile, the CW network said its drama about the Rev. Eric Camden and his family would air its final episode May 13, wrapping up an 11-year run.
In other programming moves at the networks, ABC pulled the plug on the low-rated freshman drama “Six Degrees” -- which debuted last fall with more than 12 million viewers but pulled in only about 3 million last Friday -- and NBC is replacing “The Black Donnellys” with reality shows.
“Six Degrees’ ” 9 p.m. Friday spot will be filled for now by repeats of “Wife Swap.” “The Black Donnellys,” a midseason crime drama, will be replaced next week in its Monday 10 p.m. slot by the improv program “Thank God You’re Here,” with the reality show “The Real Wedding Crashers” moving in April 23 at 10 p.m.
