McCain in Iraq

Re “Iraq toll rises amid security sweep,” April 2
So Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) goes to Iraq and then uses the trip for a photo-op so he can hobnob with checkbook-ready conservatives and gush about how well Baghdad is doing. All I can think is that another good man has been sucked down the 4-inch line of the current state of American politics. McCain has chosen to curry conservative support over telling the truth to and for his brothers in arms. Who would have ever guessed that he of all people would turn his back on the truth of war?
I loved you, John -- I thought you might be different, but I was wrong. Put him down as bought and paid for just like the others. Man, what a disappointment.
