2 children, 2 men rescued from falls
From Times Wire Reports
Two men, a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old were rescued by helicopter Friday after their boat careened off a 150-foot dam on the Colorado River and became wedged near the bottom.
The boat was submerged by whitewater-speed rapids after going over the falls near Bay City, a Coast Guard spokesman said.
“Our best guess is that they either lost steering or their engine died,” the spokesman said.
“If your engine dies, there’s no way to stop yourself from going over the dam.”
