She enjoys all the earthly delights

“SLOW BURN” is an appropriate film title, given the time it’s taken getting into theaters -- the thriller opens Friday after originally being slated for release in 2005 -- but for Jolene Blalock, who plays a prosecutor opposite Ray Liotta, the timing couldn’t be better.

“It’s just such a departure from what I’m known for,” said the former space-alien scientist of the “Star Trek” prequel “Enterprise.” “It just reminds me of all the things I still want to do. I’ve played the sexy roles and been vacuum-packed into a Vulcan costume. But I’d love to do a black comedy, play a rock star, a drug addict. I’d love to play an idiot savant.”

In the meantime, Blalock lives in L.A. with music-exec husband Michael Rapino.

Dinner and movie

I’d start out on Friday night with dinner at Il Sole on Sunset. You can go there on any given night and Leonardo DiCaprio is sitting there, or Courteney Cox or Val Kilmer or Robert Downey Jr. It’s a real celeb magnet. But I go for the food and the quaint atmosphere. You can sit there and say hi to so many people and still have an intimate conversation. I love the chef, Pietro, and he makes polenta with white truffles for me, and they also have a killer Chilean sea bass and a beet and goat cheese salad that’s to die for. I don’t worry about what I eat; on a special weekend, it’s about enjoying yourself.

Following dinner we’d go to the Grove for a movie and then have a coffee and gelato afterward at one of the little Italian places there and talk about the film we saw.

Desert retreat

On Saturday morning I’d love to take a helicopter ride to Palm Springs. When we got there I’d check into the La Quinta Spa and then immediately go out for a horseback ride along the base of the mountains. Then I’d come back to the spa and have a smoothie and plates of fruit and lie around the pool and swim and read. For lunch I’d find a table around the pool and order seared ahi, and the salad with grapefruit and roasted almonds. Later, I’d get the one-hour deep-tissue massage. Any longer and I wouldn’t be able to walk.

And then we’d take off for the music festival in Coachella. A favorite act I’d like to see play there? Maybe Madonna, but there are so many others that are special as well.

A running start

On Sunday morning I would start off with a run, 45 minutes to an hour. Back at the spa I’d order some berries along with eggs, bacon and sausage. Then I’d have a facial and maybe a different kind of massage.

We’d have a leisurely flight home and take our dogs for a walk in the Hollywood Hills. There are a lot of great trails near our house with quite impressive lookouts over the city of Los Angeles.

In the late afternoon we’d have friends over for a barbecue and movies in our screening room. I do the cooking, and I’d roast some peppers and either steak, salmon or sea bass. It’s all good on the grill.
