Peace Corps volunteer missing

A Peace Corps volunteer has been missing for nearly a week in a mountain region in the northern Philippines, the U.S. Embassy said today.
Julia Campbell, 40, of Fairfax, Va., was last seen on Easter Sunday in Banaue, in Ifugao province, where she planned to hike alone, the embassy said. The communist New People’s Army operates in the area.
