Peace Corps worker found dead
Authorities found the body of a missing U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in a northern mountain town where she disappeared during a hike more than a week ago, an army general said.
The body of Julia Campbell, 40, of Fairfax, Va., was found buried with one foot protruding from the ground “in the vicinity of Batad.”
She disappeared April 8 in the area outside Banaue town in Ifugao province, north of Manila, where she had planned to view the famed mountainside rice terraces. Police had said she might have fallen off a cliff.
