The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq and Qatar:

Robert J. Basham, 22, of Kenosha, Wis.; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Basham died of noncombat-related injuries April 14 at Camp As Sayliyah in Doha, Qatar, where he was serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 126th Field Artillery Regiment in Kenosha.

Ryan A. Bishop, 32, of Euless, Texas; specialist, Army. Bishop was killed April 14 when a roadside bomb exploded near him while he was on foot patrol in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Shaun M. Blue, 25, of Munster, Ind.; first lieutenant, Marine Corps. Blue was killed in combat Monday in Iraq’s Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

John G. Borbonus, 19, of Boise, Idaho; private first class, Army. Borbonus was one of two soldiers killed April 12 in a suicide truck bombing in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Richardson, Alaska.

Larry R. Bowman, 29, of Granite Falls, N.C.; sergeant, Army. Bowman was killed April 13 when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 513th Transportation Company, 57th Transportation Battalion, 593rd Corps Support Group at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Jesse D. Delatorre, 29, of Aurora, Ill.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Delatorre was killed in combat Monday in Iraq’s Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Mario K. De Leon, 26, of San Francisco; sergeant, Army. De Leon was killed Monday when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany.

Aaron M. Genevie, 22, of Chambersburg, Pa.; private first class, Army. Genevie was killed Monday when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Richard P. Langenbrunner, 19, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; private first class, Army. Langenbrunner died of noncombat-related injuries Tuesday in Rustamiya, Iraq, southeast of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Jason M. Morales, 20, of La Puente; private first class, Army. Morales was killed Wednesday when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Cody A. Putnam, 22, of Lafayette, Ind.; corporal, Army. Putnam was one of two soldiers killed April 12 in a suicide truck bombing in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Richardson, Alaska.

Daniel J. Santee, 21, of Mission Viejo; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Santee was killed April 14 in a nonhostile vehicle accident in Iraq’s Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Daniel R. Scherry, 20, of Rocky River, Ohio; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Scherry was killed in a nonhostile accident Monday in Iraq’s Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Joshua A. Schmit, 26, of Willmar, Minn.; sergeant, Army. Schmit was one of two soldiers killed April 14 when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle in Fallouja, Iraq, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1451st Transportation Company, 13th Support Command in Iraq.

Lucas V. Starcevich, 25, of Canton, Ill.; private first class, Army. Starcevich was killed Monday when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany.

Steven J. Walberg, 18, of Paradise, Calif.; private first class, Army. Walberg was killed April 15 when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Brandon L. Wallace, 27, of St. Louis; sergeant, Army. Wallace was one of two soldiers killed April 14 when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle in Fallouja, Iraq, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1451st Transportation Company, 13th Support Command in Iraq.
