The Antarctic two-step

Happy feet? Or is it a case of cold feet? Dave Congalton of Nipomo, north of Santa Maria, caught this Gentoo penguin in a seemingly carefree moment during an 11-day cruise to Antarctica in January. It was his first time using a camera, he said. “My wife always takes the photos,” Congalton said, and she had skipped the cruise because the frozen continent is, well, too cold. “This is my dumb-guy Canon shot.” He used a Canon SD 550 digital.
