Dodgers have own problems

Share

What a shame that the experience at Dodger Stadium isn’t what it used to be -- and I don’t mean the parking lots. This week some classless fans were more interested in yelling at the Giants and, far worse, crossing the line in how they berated Giants fans than in bothering to root, root, root for the home team.

I don’t know when we became the lowest-common-denominator idiots who used to patrol those left-field seating areas at Candlestick Park, but this Dodgers-Giants game wasn’t much fun -- and wouldn’t have been even had the Dodgers won. We need to return to having some class and some manners, and stop behaving as if our collective IQ is the only thing lower than Takashi Saito’s ERA.

Hey, McCourt! Has the thought ever crossed your mind to put some of that $5 parking-lot-rate-hike money toward revamping the restrooms at Dodger Stadium?

How dare you subject the fans to those filthy dirty, old, run-down, disgusting, dark dingy pits of hell. You’re just lucky you don’t have to use them.

How much longer are Dodgers fans going to be forced to watch Wilson Betemit fail at the plate while their best young hitter, James Loney, rots in triple A? Are the Dodgers even considering moving Nomar Garciaparra, a former shortstop, to third base to make room for Loney? In what way is third more injury-prone than first? Haven’t all his recent injuries come on offense? Besides, he offered to play third when he re-signed, didn’t he?

Please, Ned! Please, Frank! All the problems with parking and ticket prices are forgiven. Just move Nomar to third and put Loney in the lineup.
