No wonder it’s the Garden State

The search is over [“In Search of the Killer Tomato,” July 26]. May I suggest a trip to New Jersey if the Melansons want to sample the ultimate tomato? Yes, I have grown dozens of varieties in my garden, but just last week I visited family in the Garden State and was reminded what tomato nirvana is.

Be it the combination of heat, humidity, soil, latitude or just plain magic, the Jersey tomato is king.
