No surprise
RE “The Cad Comes Out,” by Scott Collins, Aug. 13: My Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines an actor as “one who behaves as acting a part.” So why do so many people seem surprised when a gay man or woman can successfully portray heterosexuals as well as any other orientation? A homosexual actor is no different than a heterosexual actor. They are actors. They get paid to perform and take on many, many identities.
So Neil Patrick Harris has snagged a supporting actor Emmy nomination for “How I Met Your Mother.” Why? Because he is an actor, and a damn good one at that!
