TORONTO -- Maykel Galindo and Sacha Kljestan scored to help Chivas USA extend Toronto FC’s winless streak to seven games with a 2-0 victory Saturday.

Toronto’s scoreless run has reached 552 minutes.

The only good news for Toronto was the return of three of its top players. Danny Dichio, Jeff Cunningham and Marvell Wynne all came on in the second half after missing games in recent weeks because of injuries.

Toronto (5-11-5) didn’t get its first shot on goal until the 37th minute.

Chivas USA captain Jesse Marsch hit Galindo with a 40-yard pass and the striker raced toward the goal before scoring his team-leading eighth goal of the season for Chivas USA.

“I thought we played really good, especially in the second half we were disciplined for most of the game. They are hard to play against,” said Preki, Chivas USA’s coach. “We didn’t give them too many good looks and I thought we deserved to win today.”

With Toronto pressuring to tie the score, Chivas (9-6-3) made it 2-0 on a breakaway with two minutes left as Kljestan had an easy finish in front of the goal.

And just like that, it was another loss for the expansion franchise. Still, the players insist the scoreless streak is not wearing on them.

“We’re not coming in every day saying that we’ve gone however many minutes without a goal,” said Wynne, a former UCLA standout. “We play each game just like another game, we’re not thinking there’s more pressure on us. We always try and go out and win whether we score or not.”
