1,000 missing, agency says

More than 1,000 people are still unaccounted for from Nepal’s 10-year communist insurgency that ended last year, an international humanitarian agency said.
Families continue to come forward with names of the missing, increasing the list to 1,042 people, said Mary Werntz, chief of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Nepal.
Many of the families believe their relatives are dead, but haven’t received official confirmation, Werntz said.
At least 13,000 people were killed in the decade-long conflict.
