Maria Bamford and her beloved pug, Blossom, just moved from Los Feliz to Eagle Rock, and if that and her stand-up gigs around town didn’t keep her busy enough, she’s also appearing through Dec. 22 in the madcap play “Bob’s Holiday Office Party” at the Lounge Theater in L.A.

WHAT’S UP, TIGER LILY? On Friday night, I go out with my former neighbor Marketa, and since she’s a grad student and I’m a comedian, we keep it inexpensive with happy hour at Tiger Lily. The bar food and cocktails are great and reasonable -- I like their popcorn shrimp (tossed with chile aioli) and one of their martinis; so far, I’ve had Tiramisu, White Lychee, Bananas Foster and Wild Berry, but next time I’ll try the Grand Marnier Souffle martini. OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD On Saturday mornings, I might go to the Wizard of Art on Hillhurst in Los Feliz and work on my Modern period. It’s an incredibly warm, fun and reasonable (about $20 per class) way to enjoy drawing, painting and meet your neighbors. “SpongeBob” triptychs are popular with the younger students. L.A. STYLE After my class, I try to stop by the Carol Young store (in the same building complex). The clothing is all eco-conscious and, with a few exceptions, made in Los Angeles -- even the shoes! NO PLACE LIKE HOME After my first week in Eagle Rock, I had already been to Auntie Em’s three times for breakfast. It feels like you’re in a really small-town neighborhood place, and last time we were there Blossom got a bowl of water and some turkey trimmings and I had the grilled steak salad. KNIT WITS On Sunday afternoons, it’s time for “Beginning Knitting” and a chance to meet my new Eagle Rock neighbors at That Yarn Store. I first went there for a “Knitting and Rocking” live-music night. They have sewing classes, men’s night, lunchtime stitching and lots more. DON’T MESS WITH HER To keep myself in shape for dealing with hecklers, I go to Body Builders Gym on Hyperion in Silver Lake, which is a really friendly neighborhood spot, and I can even bring my dog. Right next door is the Comfort Cafe, which has really healthy food and great salads.
