Stepping down: Joe Adams, 83, who served as Ray Charles’ manager from 1959 until the singer’s death in 2004, retired this week as president of the Ray Charles Foundation and Ray Charles Enterprises, citing health concerns. Valerie Ervin and Ivan Hoffman have been named co-presidents of the two operations.
