$100,000 given for DNA testing
Councilman Jack Weiss is giving police $100,000 to help analyze rape evidence that has gone untested for up to a decade because of a shortage of funds and manpower for DNA testing.
Weiss said the money, from his office-holder account, will pay for genetic analysis of evidence from about 100 rapes.
