Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga is discussing the sale of his struggling franchise to two real estate developers, the Miami Herald reported Friday.

Jorge Perez of Miami confirmed that he and business partner Stephen Ross, a New York builder, are talking with Huizenga about the potential deal.

“We are looking at it very, very seriously,” Perez told the newspaper. Perez is chairman and chief executive of the Related Group, one of the biggest condominium builders in the country.

The Dolphins are 0-13 in their first year under Coach Cam Cameron, and in danger of the first 0-16 season in NFL history.

The NFL players’ union appealed the season-long suspension of Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones, calling the punishment excessive.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell decided not to ease the penalty after meeting with Jones on Nov. 2 in New York. Three games remain in the season.

Jones’ status will be reviewed by the league once the Titans’ season ends.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was fined $12,500 by the league for a hit against Detroit Lions quarterback Jon Kitna last Sunday that NFL officials determined constituted unnecessary roughness.

The play for which Ware was fined came with 3:29 left in the first quarter, when he lifted Kitna and then drove him into the turf at Detroit’s Ford Field.

Marc Bulger is back as the St. Louis Rams’ starting quarterback after a full week of practice with no concussion-related symptoms.

Coach Scott Linehan said that Bulger, who sat out two games because of a concussion, will start Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers split snaps with backup Billy Volek and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Lions because of a sprained knee.

Rivers sprained his left knee during Sunday’s overtime win at Tennessee and didn’t practice Wednesday.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger practiced after sitting out two days because of a sore right shoulder, a sign he expects to play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Steelers players normally must take part in the final full practice of the week on Friday before they can play on Sunday. Roethlisberger was listed as questionable on the injury report.

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff, a former seventh-round pick who made the most of his unexpected chance to be a starter this season, was given a $20.5-million, five-year contract extension. He took over as the starter when Jason Ferguson suffered a season-ending torn biceps in the opening game.

Buffalo Bills free safety George Wilson was put on injured reserve, ending his season less than a week after he broke two ribs during the first quarter of last Sunday’s 38-17 win over the Dolphins.
