It’s OK to leave home without it
When we travel outside the U.S., I leave my wallet and my wife leaves her purse at home. All we take are our credit, debit and ATM cards and photocopies of our medical insurance cards. Since we don’t plan to drive, we have no need for driver’s licenses. Our passports are our best ID. If all you carry is the bare minimum, it’s easy and comfortable to carry it in a hidden pouch.
