‘South Pacific’: A Quick Takes item in Tuesday’s Calendar said that “South Pacific” would be revived on Broadway next year for the first time since the original premiered in 1949. While this production will be the first Broadway revival since the original closed in 1954, there have been other non-Broadway versions in New York since then. They include various revivals at City Center and a 1967 production at the New York State Theater that starred Florence Henderson and Giorgio Tozzi.
