Mortar strike kills 8 in refugee camp
From Times Wire Reports
A mortar strike killed eight members of a family at a refugee camp in the latest fighting between Islamist-led rebels and Somalia’s interim government.
A resident said his wife, five children and two other relatives were killed by the mortar explosion in the camp, north of Mogadishu, the capital.
In separate incidents, insurgents also clashed with troops in the south of the capital and attacked Ugandan peacekeepers at a strategic junction.
A spokesman for the Ugandans said none of the peacekeepers were hurt.
