First the stairs, then the stares

Regarding “Nowhere to Go but Up,” Jan. 28: The house is very beautiful and creative, but it must be exhausting climbing 72 steps. Have they thought about when they get to be elderly and they have to walk with a cane, walker or wheelchair? How are they going to get up those stairs without an elevator?

The owner stated that he thinks it will become a tourist attraction. Did they think about that before they built it? Or did they want their privacy?

If it does become a tourist attraction, maybe they can charge a small fee to tour the house and he could get back some of the $1 million he spent on it.

I wouldn’t call the structure whimsical or compare it to anything Dr. Seuss would create. It looks like a mosque on the exterior and a cheesy casbah on the interior, and I am glad I don’t live within a stone’s throw. There are plenty of innovative designs for a small lot, but this sure ain’t one of them.
