Dishonest tactic

Share

Re “The soft bigotry of blowhards,” Opinion, Feb. 1

In his column regarding assertions by retired Gen. Wesley Clark and blogger Matthew Yglesias of Jewish influence in the U.S., Jonah Goldberg writes, “Yglesias, under fire, later conceded that rich, right-wing Jews ‘all on their own’ couldn’t force us to war.” This obviously implies that Yglesias had, at some point, suggested that rich, right-wing Jews “all on their own” could force us to war.

Yglesias never suggested anything, and in fact had explicitly rejected that very idea. This is a dishonest tactic by Goldberg, and he owes Yglesias (another) apology.
