On a scale of 1 to 10, they’re tops

THANK YOU, Susan Spano, for featuring the Alpine Club of England, an elite mountaineering group [“Betwixt a Rock and a Tall Place,” Her World, Jan. 28]. It is about time to recognize not only the rich and famous who conquered the highest peaks but also the guides and the Sherpas such as Tenzing Norgay, who provided the services and techniques on how to get to the top.
