Los Angeles Ballet has switched one of the venues for its spring performances, moving from the Wilshire Theatre to the Freud Playhouse at UCLA for shows on March 15 and 16. Other March dates at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center and the Alex Theatre in Glendale are unchanged. The company was unable to use all of its scenery during its engagement of “Nutcracker” at the Wilshire in December because the stage was too small. But Los Angeles Ballet co-artistic director Thordal Christensen said the move to the Freud was prompted by the size of the auditorium, explaining that “a more intimate setting would better showcase our talented company.”
