What you’ll be talking about: Mr. Obama Goes to Hollywood. Los Angeles plays host to several fundraisers for Barack Obama this month, but the hottest ticket is the upcoming reception for Obama at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. David Geffen, Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg sponsor the event, where $2,300 gets you in the door. Those who commit to raising $46,000 for the Democratic senator from Illinois get dinner at Geffen’s house later that night. (Wednesday)

What you’ll definitely want to talk about: “Family Ties: The Complete First Season.” Someday every show that ever was will be available for download on some TiVo/YouTube/Netflix hybrid. So we encourage you to enjoy these waning days of DVD releases, which allow the shows of our past to resurface in the pop culture landscape, even if just for a few brief moments. Long live the Keatons! (Tuesday)

What you’ll probably talk about: RIP O.C. “The O.C.” burst onto the scene with a bang in summer 2003 -- it was all fires and love triangles and bikini-clad teens at wild beach parties from the very first episode. By the second season the show started running out of steam, and when Mischa Barton’s character was killed off last year, the death tolls were already deafening. This week Fox airs the final episode of the series. It feels a little past due but may be worth watching, just to say you were there. (Thursday)

What someone will be talking about: “Reno 911!: Miami.” We didn’t realize that “Reno 911!” was a popular enough television show to merit its own movie, but it has been around since 2003, and that says something ... to somebody. Get ready for gross-out jokes, gay jokes, pain jokes and maybe a few genuine laughs. (Friday)

What a lot of people will talk about: “The Amazing Race: All Stars.” Everybody’s favorite reality show is back for its 11th season. This time the contestants are all teams that have competed before, including “Survivor” alums Rob and Amber, beauty queens Dustin and Kandice and Season 7 winners Uchenna and Joyce. (Tonight)
