Trainer Bobby Frankel added two more stakes wins to his meet-leading total and moved closer to Charlie Whittingham on the all-time victory list at Santa Anita on Saturday.

Two races after 7-2 longshot Night Chapter ran down pacesetter Roi Charmant to win the $80,000 Daytona Handicap, even-money favorite Latent Heat won his second graded stakes in a row, beating Proud Tower Too and eight others in the $150,000 San Carlos.

The victories gave Frankel eight stakes successes nearing the halfway point of the season. He also has 863 career wins during the winter-spring meet, leaving him six back of Whittingham.
