A nod to the folks who made it happen
A note of thanks for Mimi Avins’ thoughtful and comprehensive piece on the sets for Nancy Meyers’ film, “The Holiday” [Dec. 21]. As the production designer on the film, I am responsible for helping Nancy to realize the world in which the story unfolds.
This is a hugely collaborative process, requiring the efforts of hundreds of skilled film technicians. I would like to mention, in particular, the following key craftsmen who helped to create the world of “The Holiday”: art directors Dan Webster and Andy Nicholson; set decorators David Smith, Cindy Carr and Anna Pinnock; and location managers Chris Baugh and Ben Greenacre.
The location for Jude Law’s house in Los Feliz was found by location scout Lori Balton.
