The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq or who died at a military hospital of their injuries:

Charles D. Allen, 28, of Wasilla, Alaska; staff sergeant, Army. Allen was killed Jan. 4 when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 296th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Ryan R. Berg, 19, of Sabine Pass, Texas; private first class, Army. Berg was killed Tuesday when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Baqubah, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Aron C. Blum, 22, of Tucson; sergeant, Marine Corps. Blum died of a rare blood disorder, aplastic anemia, Dec. 28 at San Diego Naval Medical Center after being evacuated Dec. 8 from Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad, because of his illness. He was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar, Calif.

Eric T. Caldwell, 22, of Salisbury, Md.; specialist, Army. Caldwell was killed Jan. 7 when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Jeremiah J. Johnson, 23, of Vancouver, Wash.; corporal, Army. Johnson died Jan. 6 at an Army hospital in Germany where he was being treated for brain injuries suffered Dec. 26 when his Humvee overturned into a canal while on patrol south of Baghdad. Two other soldiers also were killed in the crash. Johnson was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Richardson, Alaska.

Elizabeth A. Loncki, 23, of New Castle, Del.; senior airman, Air Force. Loncki was among three Air Force bomb disposal technicians killed Jan. 7 in the explosion of a car bomb they were trying to disarm south of Baghdad. She was assigned to the 775th Civil Engineer Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Daniel B. Miller Jr., 24, Galesburg, Ill.; senior airman, Air Force. Miller was among three Air Force bomb disposal technicians killed Jan. 7 in the explosion of a car bomb they were trying to disarm south of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 775th Civil Engineer Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Raymond N. Mitchell III, 21, of West Memphis, Ark.; specialist, Army. Mitchell was killed Jan. 6 when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire while providing route security in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Michael L. Mundell, 47, of Brandenburg, Ky.; major, Army Reserve. Mundell was killed Jan. 5 when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 108th Division (Institutional Training) in Spartanburg, S.C.

Stephen J. Raderstorf, 21, of Peoria, Ariz.; corporal, Army. Raderstorf was killed in combat Jan. 7 in Balad, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Ming Sun, 20, of Cathedral City, Calif.; private first class, Army. Sun was killed Tuesday when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Timothy R. Weiner, 35, of Tamarac, Fla.; technical sergeant, Air Force. Weiner was among three Air Force bomb disposal technicians killed Jan. 7 in the explosion of a car bomb they were trying to disarm south of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 775th Civil Engineer Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

James M. Wosika Jr., 24, of St. Paul, Minn.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Wosika was killed Tuesday when a roadside bomb exploded near him while on foot patrol in Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 136th Infantry in Crookston, Minn.
