U.S., N. Korean officials meet

Senior U.S. and North Korean officials met for several hours in Berlin to discuss how to pave the way for a resumption of six-party talks on ending Pyongyang’s nuclear ambitions, the State Department said.
North Korea, which carried out a nuclear test explosion Oct. 9, has refused to implement a September 2005 deal under which it agreed to abandon its nuclear programs in return for the prospect of economic aid and security guarantees.
