Richardson to explore ’08 bid

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson intends to take the initial step toward the Democratic presidential nomination, hoping his extensive resume will fuel a campaign to become the first Latino president.
The former U.S. representative, U.N. ambassador and Energy secretary plans to announce Sunday that he will create a presidential exploratory committee, according to officials with knowledge of his plans. He is to appear on ABC’s “This Week.”
