Suicide bomb hits convoy near border
A suicide car bomb attack on a military convoy that killed four Pakistani troops has stoked fears of renewed fighting in Pakistan’s volatile tribal regions near the Afghan border.
Pakistani army and intelligence officials said the suicide attacker parked his bomb-laden car near the Kajori checkpoint on the outskirts of Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan region, and detonated it when a patrol convoy passed.
The blast killed four troops, the officials said, and a woman who was driving by in a car. The attacker was also killed.
