Sheriff turned jail into the Hilton
Re “Paris is freed; now it’s Baca’s turn,” June 27
How do I get Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca fired? The way he makes excuses for rich lawbreakers is outrageous. He cares more about Paris Hilton taking her own life in his prison than whether she puts in jeopardy the lives of law-abiding citizens who drive the same streets while she violates parole illegally driving.

Baca said, “We all know something about inmates dying in our jails” as he explained what appeared to be preferential treatment for Hilton. Why then aren’t most inmates released early or not compelled to serve time in jail at all?
