Garcetti, Greuel, Perry retain City Council posts
The City Council unanimously voted Tuesday for Eric Garcetti to remain as council president and to keep Wendy Greuel as president pro-tem. Garcetti reappointed Jan Perry as assistant president pro-tem.
Garcetti was first elected to the post in November 2005. The council routinely votes on the presidency in early July of odd-numbered years, although members can seek a vote at any time.
As president, Garcetti runs the council’s thrice-weekly meetings, appoints committees and serves as mayor when Antonio Villaraigosa is out of state.
