From Pasadena to Boise, Idaho

Wesley Jessup, founding director of the five-year-old Pasadena Museum of California Art, is moving on to become executive director of the Boise Art Museum.

Jenkins Shannon, associate director of the Pasadena museum, will serve as acting director during the search for a new leader.

Jessup is credited with building the institution’s audience and overseeing the development of the California Design Biennial and exhibitions featuring the works of such artists as photographer Catherine Wagner and painters Mark Ryden, Richard Diebenkorn and Maynard Dixon.
