A reverent ode to a type-cast actor

GREAT to read Paul Cullum in The Times. Re “Casting God,” it’s too bad Cullum didn’t give a nod to local go-to Jesus, actor Emmy Collins. Collins with his John Lennon-meets-Jesus-cum-Ted Nugent looks has gobbled up scenery as Jesus in multiple “Jimmy Kimmel Live” cold openings; “Mind of Mencia”; “The Kvetchin’ of the Christ,” a Passion parody that ran on IFilm.com for a year; and “Gay Jesus” in the crazy film, “God Made Man,” as well as numerous History Channel and TBN Christ docudramas.
