A lifetime’s work

Share

In reading the obituary of my old friend, Shirley Slesinger Lasswell (July 20), I was greatly saddened to see that her lifelong work on behalf of artists and children was omitted.

The Times chose to dwell on the struggle she faced with Walt Disney Co. over Winnie the Pooh royalties. I wish that The Times had gone further in exploring Shirley’s goodness, grace and life accomplishments, as opposed to dwelling on a lawsuit that she reluctantly entered into as a result of actions taken by Disney.
