Deputies raid homes, seize 2,000 pot plants
San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials discovered nearly 2,000 marijuana plants in two single-family residences this week. Authorities found 678 marijuana plants -- valued at $2 million and most about 3 feet high -- after serving a search warrant Tuesday at a residence in the 16000 block of Dale Evans Parkway. About 1,000 plants appeared to have been harvested within the last month.
That bust led them to a second home in Hesperia on Wednesday in the 17000 block of Bangor, where they found 938 plants valued at more than $900,000. Growers at the first residence rerouted wires to conceal the use of more than $30,000 in electrical service since January, sheriff’s officials said.
