Indian Affairs leader confirmed

The Senate voted 87-1 to confirm Carl J. Artman as head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, filling a post that has been vacant for two years.
Artman, a member of the Oneida tribe of Wisconsin, is the Interior Department’s associate solicitor for Indian affairs. Previously, Artman was chief counsel for the Oneida Tribe.
Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) voted no.
