City transit agency didn’t meet goals, audit says
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An audit released Tuesday by City Controller Laura Chick said the transportation department had failed to meet goals laid out by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
The audit called for parts of the agency to be reorganized and found that the city’s downtown DASH bus system could face a $29-million shortfall by 2010.
The study was requested by transportation chief Gloria Jeff.
The mayor’s press office said there is no definitive timetable for Jeff to meet the goals.
