Honey, if you don’t make the cut, you can’t get into Cut. Seriously, the toughest place to get a reservation right now is Cut, Wolfgang Puck’s steakhouse at the Regent Beverly Wilshire (where Richard Gere wooed Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman”). Among those who know someone who knows someone are news anchor Lauren Sanchez and hubby Patrick Whitesell (agent to the stars), actor Hugh Jackman, funnyman Jack Black and director Bryan Singer, who all dined there last week.... And speaking of Beverly Hills, look for a slice of New York to hit in May when hotelier Jason Pomeranc opens Thompson Beverly Hills. It’s the same folks who are behind the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, including designer Dodd Mitchell. Mitchell’s taking the boutique property and adding ABH (Above Beverly Hills), a bi-level, members-only rooftop lounge. Tres chic. He’s also designing Bond St., a stylish Japanese eatery owned by Jonathan Morr.

Toasting with the stars

So Parc is looking splashy. The new oyster, caviar and Champagne bar on Hollywood Boulevard is owned by Shereen Arazm and Pantera Sarah. In keeping with the girl-power aesthetics (it was designed by Shag’s Tracie Butler), they hired Canadian sommelier Lesle Gibson. Among those who’ve sampled from Parc’s largess are Scarlett Johansson, Fergie, Nick Lachey, Robbie Williams, Bryan Greenberg, Adam Brody and Ashlee Simpson.... Speaking of Shag, this Monday the Hollywood nightclub kicks off “Virgin ‘80s” with DJ Morty. All the hits, none of the misses and a vintage collection of video games (i.e., Donkey Kong and Pac Man).... Casey’s Irish Bar & Grille in downtown L.A. (www.bigcaseys.com) has some St. Patrick’s weekend shenanigans planned, including a double-decker party bus. The pub is partying from 7 a.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Sunday, offering live music, a traditional Irish breakfast and no cover charge.

N.Y. style in Echo Park

After two years, the famed dance club Dragstrip 66 got its new home at the Ex Plex on Saturday. The new 700-capacity nightclub is downstairs from the Echo in Echo Park. The dark dance club takes its cues from New York with a warehouse feel and high ceilings.... Actor Dennis Hopper held a shindig at his Venice home on Thursday as part of the CineVegas Film Festival. Hopper flew in chef Brett McKee from Charleston, S.C.’s Oak Steakhouse so friends Anthony Hopkins, Steve Buscemi, Seymour Cassel, Balthazar Getty and Jacqueline Bisset could snack on his favorite steakhouse fare.... The latest confection from the Dolce Group is Ketchup, an American-style restaurant in the Sunset Millennium complex in WeHo scheduled to open in early April.... And the Tower Bar in the Sunset Tower Hotel is getting some traffic. Betsey Bloomingdale, Mick Jagger and some “Saturday Night Live” cast members -- Andy Samberg, Rachel Dratch, Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph -- stopped by.
