First it was the queen. Now the Iron Lady is getting the British film treatment.

Encouraged by the critical and commercial response to “The Queen,” London-based producer and distributor Pathe Productions said Tuesday that it had commissioned a film about former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, set during the 1982 Falkland Islands war with Argentina.

Pathe said the film would cover the 17 days leading up to the conflict and would focus on Thatcher’s controversial decision to go to war in the South Atlantic.
