Veterans’ services chief steps down
From Times Wire Reports
The head of the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services resigned following an inspection that found shortcomings in care provided by the state’s nursing home for military veterans, Gov. Janet Napolitano said.
Napolitano said she accepted the resignation of Patrick F. Chorpenning one day after she had removed him from direct responsibility over the facility and ordered an immediate review of the nursing home in Phoenix.
